Account

How do I delete my account?

Open the Account tab, go to Management → Delete account, and confirm. Your account and its associated data are removed. This cannot be undone, so you will be asked to confirm twice.

If you can no longer sign in, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, or tell us the phone number you used, and we will delete it for you.

How do I turn usage analytics on or off?

Analytics are off until you agree to them when you first open the app. To change your choice later, go to Account → App settings and switch App usage analytics on or off. Analytics are never linked to your account. Crash reports are always sent, because we need them to fix the app, and are not linked to you either. See the privacy policy for details.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Yes. Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, or tell us the phone number you used, and we will send you a copy within one month.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel them there: on iPhone in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription by itself.

I did not receive my verification code.

Codes expire after five minutes. Check your spam folder, then use Resend on the verification screen. If your email provider is slow, wait a minute before resending — each new code invalidates the previous one.

Why can I not change my date of birth?

Date of birth is fixed at sign-up because it sets the age shown on your profile, and an editable age would undermine that for everyone else. If you entered it wrongly, contact us.

What does Incognito mode do?

With incognito mode on, other people are not shown that you had activity on their profile. You still see everything as normal; they simply see “Somebody in Incognito mode” in place of your name in their Insights.

Matching and messages

Why can I not message someone?

A conversation only opens when the interest is mutual. If you have liked someone and they have not liked you back yet, the chat stays closed. When they do, the conversation appears in your Messages tab.

Can I undo a like?

No. Likes are permanent by design — the app warns you before you send one. It is what makes a like on Humsafar mean something.

What is the difference between saving and liking?

A like is visible to the other person and can lead to a match. Saving is private: it is a bookmark so you can find someone again. Saved people appear under Social → Saved users.

Delete for me, or delete for all?

Delete for me removes the message from your view only. Delete for all removes it from the conversation for both of you.

AI suggestions

Is my conversation sent anywhere?

On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, suggestions can be generated on the phone and nothing leaves it. On Android, or if you pick a server-side provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini or DeepSeek), the app asks for your explicit agreement before any chat context is shared, and you can decline and keep using everything else. Your name, contact details and photos are never sent.

I have run out of tokens.

Suggestion allowances reset every month and do not roll over. You can see what is left, and adjust the goal and tone the suggestions aim for, under AI Settings.

Safety

How do I report or block someone?

Open their profile, tap the menu in the top right, and choose Report or Block. Reporting asks for a short reason, which helps us act faster. You can review everyone you have blocked or reported under Account → Restricted users.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then tell us.

Why was an image hidden behind a warning?

Images and text are screened on your own device. Anything flagged as explicit stays behind a tap until you choose to see it, and explicit images cannot be uploaded to a profile at all.

Still stuck?

Write to [email protected] or use the contact form. Please include the email address or phone number you signed up with, your device and app version, and what you were doing when it went wrong.
